So So deviceReviewed by Ryan Nguyen, 2009-11-10
First of all, this is a waste of money for me since
1) This device WILL NOT fit on firstclass seat no matter how hard
you tried.
2) As long as your child can seat up properly, the air line does
not really care wherether the kid is in the car seat/restraint
System.
We just came home from vacatio and here is the result, device won't
fit in first class and air line does not really care about
whatever,

We first flew with this when my daughter was 18 months old. She had no problem settling in with this since it fit on her just like her 5-point car seat harness. According to the product site and according to the airline, as of December 2008 this is THE ONLY FAA certified device of it's kind. Our flight attendant even checked to ensure that it was a CARES device before we were allowed to use it. It takes just about 3 minutes to get it into place and get our girl strapped in - much faster than a carseat- and it folds right back into it's own tiny pouch when the flight is over. We always get our daughter her own seat and will continue to use the CARES system until she no longer requires a special restraint. If you travel infrequently there are also businesses that will rent the harness to you for less than it would cost to buy it if cost per use is holding you back. We are so happy we discovered this-it has made flying with our toddler a breeze (along with the portable DVD player!)
